The Will of Margaret Hanman

mother-in-law of John Collett (Ref. 14J19)

made on 13^th June 1746

and proved on 22^nd June 1749

In the name of God Amen I Margaret Hanman of Bourton-on-the-Water in the County of Gloucester widow being of sound disposing mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following

And first I give and devise all that my cottage or tenement situate and being in Bourton-on-the-Water aforesaid now in the tenure or occupation of John Pearce with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to my grand daughter Ann Collett to hold to her, her heirs and assigns forever

As to my goods chattels credits wearing apparel and personal estate consisting of what nature or kind so ever after my funeral expenses and the probate of this my Will and such charges as my executor herein after named shall pay or be put unto in or about the executorship are all paid and discharged I give and bequeath the same to my said grand daughter Ann Collett

And lastly I do nominate constitute and appoint Richard Boswell of Bourton-on-the-Water aforesaid Mercer Executor of this my last Will and Testament and trustee for my said grand daughter Ann Collett hereby revoking all former Wills by me made

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the thirteenth day of June one thousand seven hundred and forty six

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Margaret Hanman as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses here unto

Margaret Hanman was the mother of Ann Hanman

who married John Collett (Ref. 14J19)

John’s and Ann’s daughter was Ann Collett (Ref. 14K6)

who is referred to in the Will as granddaughter

Her granddaughter would have been 5 years old at the time
